1. Replacing IS MAX 2
Was always a little leery about getting a modular helmet. At 5'2" and 115 lbs, I've had people tell me how much I look like a bobble head in my AGV Groovy full face. While modulars had the bad rep of being overly bulbous and heavy - not this one!! HJC nailed it with the aerodynamics. No buffeting here. And if you are thinking about paying the exact same price and getting the soon to be outdated IS MAX 2 - well don't. Just because it will be easier to mount the Cardo Packtalk Slim (since HJC had partnered with Cardo on that helmet)? Again - don't. I am planning to make it work with this one. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because HJC ended their partnership with Cardo in favor of Sena's really, really, really outdated and sub-par technology. Oh! And the face shield is a little hard to open and close. And if you read reviews on other sites telling you this helmet runs small, do not believe them. HJC's size chart is spot on. I was sitting at the very high end of an XS, so I sized up. At first I thought it was a little sloppy; however, these pads have a way of conforming to your noggin' - so enjoy it! There are only two shell sizes. So, you can easily swap out the pads and customize your size, if need be. I got the white and am customizing it with sticker and vinyl to make it my own.
Ride safe, everyone!
