Racer High Speed Gloves Review and Sizing Info from STG

  • Racer High Speed Gloves Review and Sizing The Racer High Speed Gloves run just a bit large when using their size chart. I measured out at 10.5" which would be a XXX-Large according to the Racer Glove Size Chart. After trying both the XXX-Large and XX-Large I found the best fit with the XX-Large. - Brian Van
  • Brian Van's 2 Cents The Racer High Speed Gloves delivered as advertised for me. I have ridden in them multiple times during the 2017 season (1st time was the Road Racing World 1000cc Superbike Shootout) and can report with confidence they are very comfortable, requiring almost no break in at all. The feel is excellent and I feel the level of protection is solid. - Brian Van

Most comfortable gloves you can buy

Posted by rage thomas on 22nd Jul 2020

First off, this is my 3rd pair of Racer gloves. I have a short cuff glove I don't use too often. I had the R-safe which survived 2 years of consistent track and street duty on top of 2 crashes. I decided to get this pair after the last crash left my R-safe gloves unusable and worn out. The R-Safe gloves kept my hand safe, comforable, and had tons of feel. I have to say, these new High Speeds are great. Fit is on the larger side. The R-safe mediums needed a bit of break in where as these in medium are going to need minimal breakin. The finger lenght is great for me. i dont have the longest fingers and these are the only brand i have used that fit correct in every finger. They are light, built like a tank, and just have superior feel. Cant wait to get more use out of them.

    RACER HIGH SPEED GLOVES

    Posted by Easy62 on 18th Jul 2020

I am super picky about gloves, both for protection and fit. I must own 10 active pair, and I am constantly shopping and trying on different gloves. I never heard of RACER, but the STG test rated them #1, and it turns out that Max and I wear the same glove size. So, I took a flier and ordered Max's recommendation and the same XXL size. Talk about exceeding expectations! WOW! These gloves blow away everything in my collection on fit, feel and protection features. Just about every desirable race glove attribute is present. Sliders for the 3 common crash postures, super reinforced on the side of the pinky. The pinky bridge is there, but not constricting. Kangaroo palms and fingers for great feel, boxed finger tips with external seems, etc., etc. One construction feature I haven't seen before is a form of gusseting where the thumb meets the glove body that gives the thumb better mobility that any other glove I have tried on. Whoever it is designing these gloves really has their act together, and they aren't meeting with legal, marketing or finance before releasing them! These gloves are truly special and deserve the STG #1 rating. Worth every penny too. Intended as a race/track glove, but I wouldn't hesitate a second to toss these on with a Klim jacket and do a transcontinental ride on the GS Adventure. In fact the gauntlet is supple enough to wrap tight and go cuff over gauntlet with some touring jackets. Thanks STG for plowing through the hype and recommending great products!

    Great gloves, better service

Posted by Brian Keith on 2nd Feb 2020

I was looking for some gauntlet style gloves that gave me great feel and dexterity, these fit the bill with quality and fit. I used the sizing chart and determined I was just about dead on for the XL size. Upon receipt the XL fit well. The fingers were about the perfect diameter the palm width was slightly tight and when making a fist the material was tight, too tight. To the point my knuckles smashed against the outer armor. After wearing them around the house, sitting on my bike struggling to hit the turn signal for a while and trying to figure out if they would stretch enough I decided to return them. The process was easy with STG. I ordered the XXL size and upon receipt found these were perfect. Dexterity was much better, reaching the turn signal was no struggle and my knuckles felt better immediately. The size difference was slight but made all the difference in the world. Don't compromise and hope gloves of this price range will feel better. I could have found what seemed like a better price on Amazon or internationally but so glad I went with STG. Going with them saved me by making returns so easy, and helping me get the right fit.

    Best gloves out there

Posted by Dan Robbins on 29th Jan 2020

I tried on Astars Supertech, 5ive RFX1. The Racer High Speed gloves feel light where they need to be with protection where it is most important. Very comfortable.....Well worth the money.

    Awesome gloves!

Posted by Ryan N. on 12th Nov 2019

These are my first and only pair of gloves and I don't see how there can be better! As a new rider, these are so comfortable and there was virtually no break in, Comfort is next level and the protection is top notch. The palm sliders were a big reason why I got these gloves not to mention the style is sexy. Tactile feedback is great. Perforation is good although I haven't got to test them out in hot weather yet (80+) since it cooled down in San Diego. Sizing: Everybody says the size charts are accurate but that wasn't the case at all for me. I feel they run a little large. According to my measurements, (I measured both my hands a hundreds times to make sure it was correct) I was a size medium and found them to be too big and ended up returning them to get a small which is perfect. These gloves are a great investment and you definitely won't regret the purchase.

    Gloves

Posted by GH on 3rd Sep 2019

Gloves fit great right out the box, have Taichi GP Evo and A* GP Pros, these gloves fit better than both with seemingly equal protection, never heard of these gloves prior to seeing the video review. Fitment chart is accurate, go up a size if you're in between on measurements

Haven't ridden with the gloves yet but happy with the quality right out of the box. Fit is as-expected based on measurements (I am an XL with AlpineStars and also XL with these gloves). Kangaroo leather looks legit, and the palm sliders are half the reason I bought them. I expect this glove could take a beating.

    Excellent

Posted by Jered Haddad on 14th May 2019

Bought these based on others reviews and was not disappointed. Took them to Barber last weekend and they fit great, no issues after 14 sessions. I'll add, the feature of "Ring and little finger adjoined" is a welcomed safety feature. If I had this with prior gloves, I likely would not have dislocated my pinky finger on a prior crash.

    Your hands will thank you

Posted by TRAVIS QUINE on 10th May 2019

If you watched the 2019 Glove Shootout, you know that these were Brian and Jimmy's #1 and #2 choice out of a bunch of really well constructed gloves. Everything they said about these gloves, the fit, feel, level of dexterity is 100% accurate. From the moment I put these on, I knew they were keepers. My only gripes about these gloves and they're very minor- the pinky finger is a tad too long for me, but your mileage may vary. The second thing is the inside seam on the middle finger of my left glove tends to tuck under my fingernail. Neither of these impact the overall fit and fell of the glove on the bike, rather small details I noticed. I orginally ordered the Five RFX Race gloves, which were Brian's #2 pick. They were a whopping $430 which is a very expensive glove. I justified that purchase based on how much I work with my hands (working in Information Technology, what would be the cost of a dismount that injured my hands?). The GP carbon is nice bling for sure and the feel of the RFX Race gloves were excellent. A bit more reinforced than the Racer High Speed gloves, mostly in outside wrist area of the glove, but they were a pain to put on and take off. Comparing the two high-end gloves, I felt like the Racer gloves had better stitching all the way around and looked like a new pair of gloves. The stitching on the RFX Race gloves was sloppy and my wife asked me if I bought used gloves. That alone sealed the deal on which one's I should keep. My mechanic is a riding buddy and saw the Racer gloves sitting on my tank. He was immediately intrigued and I told him to try them on. He was sold on the fit and feel of the Racer gloves as soon as he slipped them on and asked me how much?
