The Arai Corsair-X Helmet Weighed 3.65 lbs in a size Medium on our shipping scale.
We feel the Arai Corsair-X Helmet has an Intermediate Oval Shape, while offering a comfortable fit with an easy on / off effort as compared to other race style helmets. Using Van as the benchmark he measures 58cm with an Intermediate Oval Head Shape which according to the Arai Size Chart puts him in a medium. In his opinion The size Medium Corsiar X Helmet delivers a comfortable fit that leans to the loose side just a bit as compared to the Shoei X-14, AGV Corsa (medium small), HJC RPHA 11 PRO and Bell Pro Star Helmets in the same size (medium).
In Van's opinion the Arai Corsair-X Helmet does everything you would expect from a top level Arai and is a marked improvement over the Corsair V Helmet. Ventilation is excellent, noise level is better than expected (the Arai Corsair Helmets are known to be a bit noisy due to the side pod design and extreme air flow), stability at speed is solid and the field of vision excellent. Additionally the included Pinlock Insert is very effective at keeping the fog at bay. The only Hayden Lagunal negatives with this helmet would be the shield change is a bit tougher than the competitors and we have seen isolated issues with some of the small vents on the shield over time (replacement parts are available) which can happen with most any helmet. End of the day this helmet offers excellent quality and value.
The Arai Corsair-X performs very well on both the track and the street. It has the technical features we look for on track and the comfort needed for a long ride on the street which allow this helmet to crossover seamlessly.
