1. Quality CE2 level protection with nice selection of size options
The Forcefield Isolator 2 provides CE 2 level protection, which is a worthwhile upgrade to any jacket or suit. I installed in an older Joe Rocket jacket, and thanks to the nice selection of size options, it was nearly a perfect fit. It's a bit stiff due to thickness (it's CE2, so to be expected), but still bends and shapes easily to get into the pocket, and the protector will bend with you as you move. It's not going to disappear in the jacket like the typical foam or CE1 protection, but this is the price you pay for the extra protection. And it's still quite comfortable. As for venting, my jacket doesn't vent well anyway, so it's difficult to judge. But the vent holes seem adequate (a bit superior to some popular D30 protectors, IMO). Price seems fair (and a small price to pay in the event you go tumbling down the pavement). While I've not crash tested this protector, I've crashed (on track), and can assure you that having a quality back protector is essential gear. Don't leave that thin foam in your gear. If not this protector, something. But upgrade.
