I've had several different short cuff Alpinestars gloves over the years and have to say these gloves seem to be the most substantial in terms of protection out of all that I've had. The pinky and ring fingers are sewn together with a small web of leather which is different but I don't see it being a problem. these take a little more effort to get on and off but that is mostly because of the protection built in to the gloves. I like the way the glove is designed to protect the out side of the wrist. I've only been out on one short ride with these on and I'm counting them loosening up when the get some miles on them. I have 3 different pairs of Astars gloves right now and they're all 2xl and the Celer gloves are pretty tight whereas the other 2 fit perfectly. The other 2 do have many more miles on them though. I hope not to crash test these but they definitely seem like they'd do well in a get-off.
